BACK TO SCHOOL BASH TO BE HELD ON THE DAILY NEWS PLAZA AT BARCLAYS CENTER ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

BROOKLYN (September 11, 2014) – Barclays Center will host a Back to School Bash on the Daily News Plaza on Saturday, September 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event and resource fair will feature a Kiddie Corner with face painting, arts and crafts and puppet making by Puppetry Arts; a talent showcase and step show; activities from local Brooklyn businesses including New York Chess and Games, and Dancewave; a double dutch clinic hosted by Families United; and giveaways to Barclays Center events and partner businesses. United Federation of Teachers, Peace Corps, and the Lay the Guns Down Foundation are the premier supporters of the event.

Food truck vendors Coolhaus, Korilla BBQ, and Papaya King will sell treats during the event. Visitors will be able to enjoy their food selections at bistro-style tables and chairs on the plaza, courtesy of Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. Hot 97 will provide the music for the event and the Brooklyn Nets dance team, the Brooklynettes, will be in attendance.
