ED SHEERAN SELLS OUT THREE CONSECUTIVE SHOWS AT BARCLAYS CENTER

Mar 24, 2017

Multiple GRAMMY®-Award Winning Superstar to Perform in Brooklyn
September 29, 30 and October 1

Tickets for Ed Sheeran’s upcoming performances at Barclays Center have sold out. The multiple GRAMMY® Award-winning superstar will perform three consecutive nights at the venue, from September 29 to October 1.

Tickets to the first two shows went on sale to the general public on Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m., and sold out, prompting the artist to add a third date, which quickly sold through this morning.

Ed Sheeran’s tour celebrates his third studio album “÷”(pronounced divide), which includes hit singles such as, “Shape of You” and “Castle On The Hill,” both of which quickly became chart-topping hits after their release in January. “Shape of You” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 – Sheeran’s first time at the top of the overall chart – and has remained there for eight weeks total so far. Meanwhile, “Castle On The Hill” entered the Hot 100 at No. 6, establishing Sheeran as the first artist to ever have two singles make top 10 debuts simultaneously in the chart’s 58-year history. “Shape of You” was quickly certified 2x-platinum by the RIAA, while “Castle on the Hill” earned gold – the first two songs released in 2017 to achieve RIAA certifications this year.

Following its release on March 3, “÷” entered the Billboard 200 at #1 with the biggest debut of the year, with first week sales equivalents of the album exceeding 451,000 units.  “÷” remains at #1 for the second consecutive week, and has already been certified Gold by the RIAA, becoming the year’s first album to receive a certification.  “÷” is also a global phenomenon, having already gone multi-platinum, platinum, or gold in 16 other countries around the world.  In Sheeran’s native U.K., the now 2x-Platinum “÷” debuted at #1 on the Official Albums Chart with a staggering 672,000 units in its first week, the third highest week one sales of any album in the chart’s history.
