Harlem Globetrotters Travel on Long Island Rail Road to Preview New Barclays Center

PLACE: tart - Jamaica Station, Sutphin Blvd. & Archer Ave., Queens, NY (depart at 1:13 p.m.)

End - Atlantic Terminal, Flatbush & Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY (arrive at 1:33 p.m.)

DETAILS: With basketballs spinning and “Sweet Georgia Brown” in the air, five members of the Harlem Globetrotters will board the 1:13 p.m. train out of Jamaica via the Long Island Rail Road on their way to Brooklyn. Their final destination will be Atlantic Terminal to preview the nearly complete Barclays Center, where the Globetrotters will play on Sunday, October 7 at 3 p.m.

Brooklyn native Hammer Harrison joins teammates Big Easy Lofton, TNT Maddox, Buckets Blakes, Slick Willie Shaw, and mascot Globie for a train ride to remember. The players will take a break from their annual training camp on Long Island to witness Brooklyn’s new arena.

Upon their arrival to the Atlantic Terminal lobby, the Globetrotters will perform their iconic “Magic Circle” for commuters with Barclays Center as the backdrop.

Located atop one of the largest transportation hubs in New York City, Barclays Center will be accessible by 11 subway lines, the Long Island Rail Road, and 11 bus lines.

The Globetrotters game on October 7 will be one of the first events at Barclays Center, which opens on September 28 with a JAY Z concert.
