St. Bonaventure’s Adams Named Player of the Week

Adams led the Bonnies to a 2-0 week, averaging 25 points, 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. The guard from Baltimore, Md., also shot 15-of-30 (.500) from the field including 9-of-19 (.474) from 3-point range and 11-for-12 at the free throw line. His biggest shot of the week was a buzzer-beating three to lift St. Bonaventure past Saint Louis, 65-62, Sunday at the Reilly Center. He scored 19 points in that game with six rebounds and four assists. Earlier in the week, he scored a career high 31 points with seven assists in an key road victory at Saint Joseph’s Feb. 3.

Livingston led Mason offensively in its two games this week, averaging 19.5 points per game. The guard from Linden, N.J., opened the week matching his career-high in scoring with 18 points, helping lead Mason to a victory at Richmond. He also dished out five assists in the win. He followed that performance with a career-high performance against No. 24 Dayton, pitching in 21 points against the Flyers. Livingston was 7-of-15 from the field, including a 4-of-7 effort from 3-point range. He also finished with five assists. He has scored in double-figures in 11 of the past 12 contests.

Davidson’s Jack Gibbs scored 25 points twice last week, hitting 6-for-12 from 3-point range and 10-of-11 at the line in a split week for the Wildcats … Charles Cooke shot 76.9 percent from the field (10-of-13) to lead Dayton with 24 points to a road win at George Mason … UD freshman John Crosby scored 10 points with and assist and a steal in the Mason win … Patricio Garino averaged 22 points in a 2-0 week for George Washington, including tallying 27 points on 11-of-16 from the field in a road win at VCU … Jarvis Garrett scored 26 points, had five rebounds and three assists for Rhode Island in a road win at La Salle, his only game of the week … Rhode Island freshman Nikola Akele was perfect from the field with a 6-for-6 performance, including 2-of-2 on 3-pointers to score 15 points in the win at La Salle … Richmond’s T.J. Cline averaged 26.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, shooting 69.2 percent from the field for the week … Saint Joseph’s DeAndre’ Bembry, who recorded seven assists in each game last week, scored 22 points against St. Bonaventure and then had a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double in a win over Fordham … Saint Louis’ freshman Jermaine Bishop scored a team-high 17 points and tied a career-high with six assists at St. Bonaventure.
