Event Information
Beyond Sport United 2016 will be at Barclays Center on August 9th with a specific focus on diversity and inclusion. The world’s biggest teams and leagues will unite to lead the conversation on how they can use their influence to create opportunities for people to get involved in sport no matter their background, race or religion.
Founding partners MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL & WNBA have reaffirmed their collective commitment to better understand how sports can be used to address key social issues that sit at the heart of the work they do, in the communities they serve including: tackling violence, racism, homophobia, bullying, nutrition and access to safe spaces. Supporting the days agenda are Global Partners, Barclays, TIME and UNICEF; National Partners, Equinox and the Guardian, alongside official sponsors WWE and the World Boxing Council.
The day will convene leagues, teams, clubs, governing bodies, rights holders, brands and NGO’s from all corners of the globe, to share best practice and knowledge around how access to sport can change lives, be it through participation, education, inclusion and entertainment. Influential figures from the world of sport, business and politics will share insight through interactive panels, case-studies, and practical sessions.
