Jun 1, 2012

Internationally acclaimed dance and music phenomenon Sensation will make its U.S. debut when it comes to Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27.

Sensation features world-renowned DJs who accompany extraordinary spectacles, acrobats, state-of-the-art lightshows, and lasers in a heart racing production that has wowed millions of event goers in over 20 countries since 2000. The event at Barclays Center marks the first time that Sensation will program an entire weekend event outside of Holland.

“Barclays Center is thrilled to introduce Sensation to Brooklyn and to the nation,” said Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark. “Sensation will bring a dynamic cultural experience with cutting-edge music to the heart of Brooklyn. We’re excited to offer the borough a unique interactive global event as we continue to attract the most diverse programming of any venue in the country.”

Sensation will present the Barclays Center audience with the show “Innerspace,” which premiered last year in Amsterdam. “Innerspace” transports the audience on a spiritual journey through seven intense experiences and an interactive happening full of dazzling show elements.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday, June 8 at noon and will be available through Ticketmaster by visiting www.barclayscenter.com or www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000. Ticketbuyers must be at least 21 years old to enter. All attendees are required to dress in white attire.

Brooklyn Nets All Access season ticket buyers have the opportunity to purchase tickets for Barclays Center events before the general public. Fans are encouraged to visit www.barclayscenter.com and follow @BarclaysCenter on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates and special pre-sale offers.

A portion of each ticket will be donated to dance4life, which inspires, educates and mobilizes young people from nearly 30 countries to stop the spread of HIV and AIDS. For more information, visit dance4life.com.

As with all events at Barclays Center, arena staff will work closely with the MTA to coordinate mass transit to and from the arena based on the event profile and with NYPD and other City agencies to ensure safety and security procedures are strictly followed and enforced.

The inaugural Sensation U.S. is produced by Netherlands based ID&T in conjunction with Live Nation.

About Sensation
Sensation was initiated in Amsterdam in 2000, and since then millions of people around the world has experienced one of the most spectacular dance and music phenomena in the world.

While Sensation’s reputation has grown, the music has evolved and taken on it’s own style – it’s not just about booking the biggest name DJ’s, it’s about choosing the people who can make Sensation the best event possible, and play the most cutting edge music of today and tomorrow.

Besides the DJ’s and performers, the spectacular “The Mix” for many is an exciting climax of any Sensation show, setting it apart from all other dance events. During “The Mix” not the DJ’s, but the music itself, and the public, are the stars. Compiled by one of the musical masterminds of Sensation, this musical trip through history features a range of old and new classics, accompanied by a synchronized show and fireworks display.
