BROOKLYN – The 2012 Kellogg’s® Tour of Gymnastics Champions, a national tour featuring Team USA’s top performing gymnasts following the 2012 Olympic Games in London, is coming to Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 18, 2012.
The 2008 Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin will lead an impressive cast that will include members of the men’s and women’s U.S. Team from the 2011 World Championships and 2012 Olympic Games teams, along with other Olympians and U.S. medalists in men’s, women’s, rhythmic, and acrobatic gymnastics, and trampoline and tumbling. The show’s format will pair elite gymnastics skill with modern performance art that will push the boundaries of athleticism.
“I can’t wait to come to Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the Kellogg’s Tour and perform in front of the largest Russian community in the US,” said Liukin. “It’s truly an honor and a pleasure, as I have great pride for the culture and people of my native country. I believe this is what makes the Olympic spirit so great; providing a platform for athletes and fans of all countries and ethnic backgrounds to cheer excellence. I’m looking forward to seeing all my fans in Brooklyn this fall.”
The Kellogg’s Tour of Champions will mark the first gymnastics event at Barclays Center, the new major sports and entertainment venue, which will officially open on September 28, 2012. Local area gymnasts will have the unique opportunity to participate in opening and closing ceremonies of the show, alongside the elite cast of gymnastics superstars.
