Jul 9, 2014

BROOKLYN (July 9, 2014) – The Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center have named Fred Mangione as Chief Operating Officer. Mangione had been serving as Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Revenue Officer for both the team and venue.

Ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, marketing, business communications, event marketing, game entertainment, and community relations departments will report directly to Mangione.

“Fred has been with me since 2005 and was instrumental in the strategy and execution for the opening of Barclays Center and the transformation of the Nets’ brand in the team’s move to Brooklyn,” said Brett Yormark, CEO of Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets. “Fred is a great partner and is well deserving of the promotion and the recognition that goes with it.”

Brian Basloe, who has been named Chief Strategy Officer of Suite and Ticket Sales, will continue to report to Mangione.

The Nets and Barclays Center are also promoting Mike Zavodsky to Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships, with direct oversight of the sponsorship sales efforts for the Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center, New York Islanders, and the soon to be recreated Nassau Coliseum. Since 2012, Zavodsky had been Senior Vice President of Corporate Sponsorships for Barclays Center.

“Mike began his career as my intern in 2005 and with his strong work ethic and proven success record, he has earned his rapid advancement to Executive Vice President,” Yormark said.

In addition, Andrew Schwartz has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships. Schwartz will have direct accountability for the Nets and Islanders sales, while Chris Brahe, also a Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships, will have direct accountability for sales for Barclays Center and the soon to be recreated Nassau Coliseum. Both Schwartz and Brahe will report to Zavodsky.

In addition, Mark Toffolo, who has served in corporate sales for the New York Jets and Madison Square Garden, will begin this month as Vice President of Global Partnerships. Toffolo will report to Brahe.
