Collaboration Enhances Accessibility for Blind and Low Vision Fans during Nets games at Barclays Center

BROOKLYN - The Brooklyn Nets, in partnership with Ticketmaster and OneCourt, have become the first professional sports team on the East Coast to provide tactile broadcast to fans free of charge during the team’s home games at Barclays Center. With more than 200,000 New Yorkers experiencing vision loss, this collaboration ensures blind and low vision fans can feel the excitement of the game in real-time and builds upon Barclays Center’s longstanding commitment to enhance accessibility and create inclusive experiences for all fans.

OneCourt’s cutting-edge technology transforms live gameplay data into real-time audio and trackable vibrations on their tablet-sized device. Blind and low vision fans can follow the action on the surface of the haptic display with their fingertips, while an earpiece provides live updates on the score and play outcomes, bringing the full energy of the game to life through touch.

“All sports fans should be able to enjoy the in-arena, live action experience of their favorite sports teams, regardless of ability, and our collaboration with OneCourt will help unlock an entirely new world for blind and low vision fans,” said Keia Cole, Chief Digital Officer at BSE Global, parent company of the Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center and the New York Liberty. “Thanks to our partners at Ticketmaster, we are proud to bring OneCourt’s devices to the East Coast as we continue leading with a fan-first philosophy, ensuring that Barclays Center continues to remain an accessible and inclusive environment for everyone.”

“Our partnership with BSE Global marks a milestone as the Brooklyn Nets become the first East Coast professional team to integrate OneCourt’s devices into their gameday experience. Ticketmaster believes live events should be experienced fully by everyone, which is why we're proud to have helped bring this solution to life from coast-to-coast and made it available to fans who need it at Barclays Center,” said Michael Wichser, Chief Operating Officer at Ticketmaster. “We’ll continue working with like-minded partners who share our vision to create inclusive experiences that bring fans closer to the sports they love.”

“OneCourt is proud to partner with the Brooklyn Nets and Ticketmaster to bring our tactile broadcast to Barclays Center, expanding our reach within the NBA,” said Jerred Mace, Chief Executive Officer at OneCourt. “The rapid growth we’ve experienced is a reflection of OneCourt’s impact on fans. It's a privilege to work with partners who share our belief that sports should be inclusive, immersive, and truly for everyone.”

The Nets piloted OneCourt at the end of the 2024-25 NBA regular season, hosting individuals from VISIONS-Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired at multiple games to use the technology and gather tangible feedback about their overall in-arena experience.

“So many blind and low vision sports fans choose to not attend live games because they feel that they are missing out on the live visual experience that is happening,” said Mike Cush, Chief Program Officer at VISIONS. “With OneCourt, blind and low vision patrons can ‘feel’ what is happening on the court and not have to rely on sighted assistance to know what is going on during a game. As a blind basketball fan myself, I found OneCourt to be a ‘game changer’ in how I experience a live game. Kudos to the Nets for incorporating this technology and giving blind and low vision basketball fans a fully immersive experience.”

As a KultureCity Sensory Certified venue, Barclays Center has already set a high standard for accessibility and was the first sports arena to open a designated sensory room—a space for fans who may need a quieter, more secure environment during events. Additionally, the arena provides various support services for fans who are hard of hearing, including assistive listening devices, captioning, and audio descriptions. By partnering with Ticketmaster to become the first East Coast sports venue to offer OneCourt, Barclays Center continues to innovate, ensuring that blind and low vision fans have access to enriching, real-time experiences during live sporting events, furthering its mission to make every guest feel welcome and included.

Five OneCourt displays will be available to all guests attending Nets home games at Barclays Center on a first-come, first-served basis and can be picked up at the arena’s Guest Services Centers located outside Sections 112 and 212. Fans can contact Guest Services to reserve a device in advance by calling 917-618-6192 or emailing guestservices@barclayscenter.com.
